It is not mandatory for all to undergo antigen test at the entry points of Raipur, as the District Administration is set to set up Covid-19 Testing Centres at some entry points of the district from November 23. Initially, Covid Testing Centres (CTCs) will be set up at RTOs situated at the entrance of the district and a minimum of two teams will be deployed, said Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr Meera Baghel. “Earlier, I had sent a proposal to the District Administration seeking permission for making antigen test of people entering the district mandatory by setting up Covid-19 Testing Centre at all the entry points.

After a thorough deliberation on my proposal, the outcome was that the mandatory of antigen test of all those coming to Raipur will lead to chaos, traffic jam etc. Therefore, it was decided to make the antigen test for Chhattisgarh people coming to Raipur options and mandatory for people travelling from other states. The vehicles bearing registration number of other states, trucks in particular, will be intercepted at the RTO situated Covid Testing Centres and passengers, trick drivers and cleaners in particular, will be asked to undergo antigen test,” Dr Baghel told to The Hitavada.

Dr Baghel further said that initially, two teams will be deployed and number of teams will be increased, if situation demands. There will be shift duty of medical teams (each shift will be divided into 3-4 hours) if rush of patients increases, said Dr Baghel.
