Expressing concern over rising coronavirus cases in Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra State Assembly, said, “The Government should take decision of schools’ re-opening carefully.” Fadnavis was speaking to mediapersons after the convention of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to review the campaigning of Graduates’ Constituency polls at Hotel Centre Point on Saturday. Sandip Diwakar Joshi is the candidate of BJP, Republican Party of India (RPI) (Athawale) and Bahujan Republican Ekta Manch. Fadnavis said, “At some places the cases of Covid-19 positive persons are increasing.

The government has taken a decision of asking teachers to undergo Covid-19 test which is justified. But the charges for the test should be borne by the Government.” On the issue of Hindutva, Fadnavis said, “Hindutva was never aggressive. It is known for tolerance. Go through the history, there is not a single mention about Hindus attacking others. A person like Owaisi states something and nobody acts against him does it not indicates how tolerant Hindus are?” Sudhir Mungantiwar, former Finance Minister and now Chairman of Public Accounts Committee (PAC), who also attended the convention, also spoke to media. He clarified the statement of Ashish Shelar, Mumbai BJP President about women Chief Minister in Maharashtra. Mungantiwar said, “Shelar stated during a book release function.

The book was related to the issue, hence Shelar gave the statement. But nobody should have any problem if a woman is made Maharashtra’s Chief Minister provided is competent enough.” Chandrashekhar Bawankule, BJP State General Secretary reiterated his demand of waiver of power bills. He warned BJP would agitate aggressively if demand remained unfulfilled. Bawankule said, “Government should not mix up issues of waiver of power bills and pending dues. Pending dues is a lame excuse of Government. In fact, the government can act regarding power bills in the interest of public.”
