At a time when Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is claiming that unemployment problem is being sortedout with great success, the contradicting statement issued by Home and PWD Minister Tamradhawaj Sahu that unemployment emerged out of COVID-19 crisis, as the root cause for increasing crime rate in State, the Bharatiya Janata Party has sought clarification from the ruling Congress Government to table a White Paper on unemployment scenario. BJP State President Vishnu Deo Sai while raking up the issue said the Chief Minister praises his Government for solving unemployment problems by propagating employment figures. On the other hand Home Minister Tamradhawaj Sahu while addressing mediapersons had stated that unemployment has increased due to COVID-19 crisis which is further giving rise to crime in State. Sai said that on one side the Chief Minister issues figures showing lowering unemployment while the Home Minister terms unemployment as the root cause of increase in crime, which is contradictory.

BJP State President Vishnu Deo Sai has sought resignation from Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu who have given false figures to hide the State’s deteriorating law and order, rising crime and unemployment. Sai said that this kind of contradictory statements from two great leaders of ruling Congress creates doubt among the people. This is an issue of introspection for the 70-member strong Congress government and urged the Chief Minister to clarify who’s correct. The BJP State President further stated that this is not the first time when such kind of contradictions between the Chief Minister and Ministers with significant portfolios had arisen. Earlier, a contradiction had arisen between Health and Family Welfare Minister T S Singhdeo and Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.

A few days ago, Bilaspur MLA Shailesh Pandey protested in the presence of Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, questioning the functioning of the police and issuing a rate list. Sai has urged Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to clarify to the people as the issue is directly against the interest of the people of the state. Terming the ruling Congress government as a government with contradictions, Sai said that the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, is delimited by pressure and opposition of senior Congress leaders.

The Government has completely failed to control the deteriorating law and order and increasing crime. He said that the State Government, burdened by mutual contradiction, is unable to understand when to hide its failure and when to make excuses for hiding behind COVID-19 pandemic. In the last 23 months, cases of murder, rape, loot, abduction, illicit liquor trade, drugs, etc have increased manifold making Chhattisgarh a crime capital. He said that there is no place for those who cheat the public by lying. Hence the Congress leaders should state the truth and apologise to the people.
