Finally, the verdict of Supreme Court gave a major respite to the parents and students aspiring to get admission to Class XI. The admission process was stopped on September 2 this year as the case of reservation to Socially and Educationally Backward Classes of Citizens (SEBC) category was being heard in the Court. Now, Supreme Court has made it clear that the admission process of education sector should be conducted without keeping reservation in SEBC category. The order also says the students, who had applied before September 9, 2020 to get admission through SEBC category, should be given admissions through open category.

Due to the pendency of the admission process confusion reigned supreme in the minds of parents and students. After the stoppage of the process, the stakeholders did not have any clue what would happen to the admissions. Some students tried institutions in other states. But, there was not much choice for them and they did not have any option than to wait. Due to the stoppage of the admission process of Class XI which is conducted by Deputy Director (Education), several issues got created.

Even if the admission process would begin on Thursday, how long the classes would be conducted, whether students would be able to prepare themselves to write the examination are some of questions that remained unanswered. On September 2, when process was stopped Nagpur division had done admissions of 13,454 students while 45,716 seats were vacant. During this time, students could not tap the option of Post-SSC Diploma engineering courses as Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) too did not issue the necessary notification. Normally, students go for Class XI or Post-SSC Diploma engineering course. According to Central Admission Committee, the admission process would move to Round II. It will take at least 15 more days to complete the process. There is no clarity about the opening of colleges and schools so even if students admitted they have to wait till Government takes final decision.
