RailwayS conducted speed trial of trains at its third line newly constructed from Bhopal to Habibganj Station on Wednesday. Train carrying 8 coaches ran on the track for 110 kmph of speed in presence of Commissioner for Rail Safety (CRS), Mumbai Central Zone and Divisional Railway Manager (DRM). However report prepared by Commissioner is yet to be released. If report remains successful, passenger train will be running on the track. First trial was held for speed of 100 kmph to 110 kmph.

After successful trial of speed, regular trains will be started on this line. It is seven km long track constructed in five years. However third line was almost to be started about two years back but the overbridge being constructed on Subhas Crossing and Pool Bogda delayed the project. After starting third line from Bhopal to Habibganj, trains will be reaching stations in short time and halt of trains at outer will be minimised.

This will also help to speed up through and goods trains that do not halt in Bhopal and Habibganj stations. Third line has been already started on Bhopal-Bina (158 km) about two years back. Misrod-Mandideep third line has been recently started.
