Bhopal’s Bhagwan Singh undertakes bicycle journey from Srinagar to Kargil War Memorial

Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha from the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare has made Madhya Pradesh proud by completing a difficult adventurous bicycle journey of about 300 kilometers from Srinagar to Kargil War Memorial within three days. Bhagwan Singh, on Tuesday, met the Director Sports and Youth Welfare, Pawan Kumar Jain and apprised him of this adventurous journey.
 
Sports Director Jain congratulated Bhagwan Singh for his successful completion of this adventurous journey and appreciated his skills. He said “Bhagwan has done a courageous task by completing the most difficult road route of the world 11,000 feet by climbing the Zozila-Pass with a bicycle.” Bhagwan Singh shared about his journey stating that he started cycle journey from Srinagar at 7 am on October 30, 2020.
 
He reached Zozila-Pass via Sonmarg where due to the storm, he stayed overnight in the cabin of the truck. The next day he reached Drass at 8.30 pm and reached Kargil War Memorial on November 1, 2020 to pay tribute to the martyrs and returned to Srinagar. Bhagwan Singh concluded his adventure by reaching Srinagar at 7 in the evening.” Bhagwan Singh is the first mountaineer from Madhya Pradesh to hoist the tricolour on Mount Everest in 2016. He believes regular cycling keeps us fit as ‘Hum fit toh India fit’.
