JDSYF-The Cyclists cycle rally gets good response

JD SPORTS Youth Foundation (JDSYF) and The Cyclists jointly organised cycle rally under the Fit India Movement recently. This ride was from RBI Square to Koradi Temple and back. The rally was flagged off by Dr Jaiprakash Duble, Former Joint Director, Sports and Youth Services Government of Maharashtra. International acclaimed cyclist Dr Amit Samarth and Dhananjay Sute, Asst Commissioner, Nagpur were also present. As many as 50 cyclists participated in this event.
 
Youngest participant was 12-year-old Mihika Agashe, who is also a national skater. She was later felicitated by Yogesh Bhagadkar, Founder of The Cyclists group. During the cycle ride, all the participants followed the guidelines and took necessary precautions as instructed by MHA and State Government. Youngsters including Aryan Ashish Adhao (8 years) cheered up all the participants throughout the ride. JDSYF’s President Jayant Duble, who is also a open water marathon swimming record holder, informed about the objective of this rally.
 
“In the present situation of COVID-19 pandemic, boosting immunity is an important aspect. Cycling is one of the best exercise for all the age groups. Union Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs is promoting Fit India Movement all over the nation. It is also encouraging the youth clubs to spread this message and organise such types of events,” Duble said.
 
He added, such type of cycle rides, walkathon, trekking, running, indigenous games, etc will be organised in near future by the foundation. Prajakta Duble, a member of JDSYF proposed a vote of thanks. She made special mention of government authorities for extending their support for successful organisation of this event.
