AS many as 50 daily wage workers of various police welfare petrol pumps were paid Diwali bonus under the ongoing ‘Spandan’ programme at a formally organised function in Bhilai. Prashant Thakur, Superintendent of Police (SP), Durg handed over bonus cheques to these daily wage workers during the programme.
 
While addressing the assembled daily wage workers of various police welfare patrol pumps, SP Thakur said that under ‘Spandan’ programme police undertake various welfare activities. He said that in the series it was decided that all daily wage workers would be paid fifty percent of their monthly wages as Diwali bonus. He also said that the daily wage workers were recently given 25 percent hike in wages. The programme was specially organized for exhorting hard working workers of police welfare patrol pumps. He also extended Diwali greetings to the workers. The other senior police officials also spoke on this occasion.
 
There are three police welfare petrol pumps in Sector-6 and Maroda in Bhilai and one is functioning in Bhilai-3. It needs a mention that the police welfare petrol pump of Sector-6, Bhilai has recorded highest sale of petrol and diesel in Chhattisgarh. The senior officials present on the occasion were Rohit Kumar Jha, ASP (City); Pragya Meshram, ASP (Rural); Praveerchandra Tiwari, Dy SP (Crime); Ajeet Yadav, CSP, Bhilai Nagar Police Subdivision and other senior police officials were present on the occasion.
