Asserting that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is working for bringing change in the system along with establishing our Country as a strong and prosperous nation, BJP National Vice-President Dr Raman Singh said that Chhattisgarh has not only been cheated, but has been duped badly by the current political dispensation in State.

Addressing the inaugural session of the 3-day State-level Training Programme of the BJP being held at Kushabhau Thakre Parisar here in Capital, the former Chief Minister said that we are the workers of such a political party, whose target is nation building and working for the nation. We believe in ‘Nation First’ ideology and we feel pride in the fact that this fact distinguishes us from other political parties. We don’t work for power, instead we work for service of people.

Dr Singh said that everyone likes power transformation, but BJP is a party which works with the target of bringing change in the system along with establishing a strong and prosperous nation. Addressing the august gathering of party office-bearers, he said, “Sun will rise and ‘Kamal’ will blossom as darkness will diminish, this is the Mul Mantra the former Prime Minister Late Atal Behari Vajpayee had given during Mumbai congregation, with which, the party is striving ahead even today. At a time when all the political parties are passing through a phase where they lack ideology and forethoughts, the BJP which is cherished with nationalism and integral humanism, thinks of prosperous and empowered nation.

Dr Singh said that at a time when Kashmir was given the status of Special State due to the appeasement policy of the then Prime Minister Pt Nehru and the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh was banned by leveling false allegations, then Jan Sangha came into existence under the leadership of Late Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee in 1951. Later, Dr S P Mukherjee sacrificed his life for Jammu and Kashmir. Praising the courageous initiative of abrogation of Article 370 and 35A by the NDA Government, he said Bharatiya Jana Sangh in its first election manifesto had promised to abrogate Article 370, which was fulfilled by NDA Government.

Dr Singh further said that in this endeavor, the BJP workers not only went to jail and were subjected to cane charges, but also sacrificed their lives. The BJP workers have seen the atrocities against them during Emergency imposed by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Our party workers have went through a long struggle and the journey from Jan Sangha to BJP had been full of struggles, including the struggle for Ram Mandir. He called upon all the party workers to be prepared for all favourable or adverse situations and this training programme thus have its significance.

BJP State President Vishnu Deo Sai said that not all of us are workers of the largest party in the world. The functioning of the BJP and its ideology and such training programmes, set us apart from other political parties. We work on the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. He said this is possible only in BJP where a lowest level party worker can become National President. Present during the programme were Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik, Pawan Sai, Rampratap Singh, Deepak Patel and other senior BJP office-bearers and workers.
