Fire at scrap dealers’ shops near Habibganj Naka

A major fire broke out in shops near Habibganj Naka. Three shops of scrap dealers adjacent to each another were gutted in the incident. Bhopal Municipal Corporation fire brigade team reached the spot at around 5 pm. BMC Fire Squad Officer Rameshwar Neel said that around five fire brigade reached the spot and fire was controlled within two hours.
 
The fire spread to slum areas near the shops but was controlled in time and accordingly no causality was reported. The cause of fire is yet to be ascertained but it is basically due to short circuit. Fire tenders reached from Pul Bogda, Mata Mandir, BHEL and other places. There was chaos in the market due to fire accident. According to the officials, the fire was completely controlled around 6:30 pm. But the cause of the fire is not yet known. But the police and fire team are considering it as a short circuit. The smoke was visible from very far and initially it was rumoured that people were trapped in slum areas due to fire and evacuation is needed but before any such situation the fire was controlled completely. Notably, back to back three major fire accidents have been reported in last ten days in city and majority of them are due to short circuit.
