Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr Harsh Vardhan reviewed the COVID status of Chhattisgarh through video conference with Health Minister T S Singhdeo here on Friday.
 
During the meeting, Dr Harsh Vardhan informed that for last ten months country has been facing corona infection and Government is making all possible efforts to control it. He informed that at present 2,056 labs and with testing capacity of 10-15 lakh samples, Government has succeeded in testing 12 crore people all over country. Speaking on status of Chhattisgarh, he opined that due to negligence in important cities of State, cases are on rise which is matter of concern. He stressed that during festival season special attention should be paid in Durg, Raipur, Rajnandgaon, Raigarh, Janjgir-Champa to control the spread of corona infection. He informed that by first quarter of next year vaccine of corona is expected to be available for which State Government should make necessary arrangements so that with effective work-plan vaccine reaches to every needy person in State.
 
Health Minister further informed about the present condition of corona in State. He stressed that through transparency and awareness, first priority is to reduce mortality rate and preparation of effective work-plan for delivery of vaccine. He further informed that over 7,20,000 migrant labourers returned to State and were kept in Isolation Centres.
 
Data related to corona deaths taken place in private hospitals were not included in report, efforts are on to make them part of report with transparency. Movement of public in three important districts of Raipur, Durg and Bilaspur is more due to which cases are on rise. Mortality rates percent wise recorded in Durg is 1.68, Raipur 1.48, Bilaspur 0.98, Surguja 0.67 and Bastar 0.59 indicates the movement of people from other districts is prime cause of increase in graph. Efforts made by State Government to control corona cases were expressed in detailed by Health Minister.
