Dubey clears the exam in first attempt

The results for the Civil Judge (entry-level) Examination-2019, conducted in State, were declared on November 7, 2020 and for one of the recently selected participants, the date holds special significance. On November 7, 2014, while returning home from Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Parth Dubey, a promising prodigy met with a fatal accident that threatened to incapacitate one or several of his living functions (speech, hearing, sight, motion) permanently.

Today on the 6th anniversary of his life altering incident, he sits as one of the few people, who have managed to face the highly-competitive exam in his first attempt. What transpired in these years is nothing short of a medical miracle for he was given little chance of survival by doctors and even lesser by the experts of the DPNR, NIMHANS, of recovering.

His mother Dr Rashmi Dubey was always sure of her son who cleared his 5 year course in 11 months despite his limitations, the young judge has gone from strength to strength. Guided by his father from the ICU to his recent appointment at ONGC, his story has been one of the success of joint collective and concerted effort of his family, supported by relatives and assisted by friends. The diminutive and confident Civil Judge, however, has an obstinate line across his face as he talks emphatically about his future plans. A special mention he makes, is of the realisations and understanding adversity has shown him of human character. In an animated exclusive chat he expressed his gratitude towards his immediate and extended family friends, tutors and mentors who helped shape him.

In his recovery he cites as motivation the suffering and pain he saw his mother, father and immediate family undergo. Having completed his masters from National Law University, Delhi, he qualified as an Assistant Professor in the UGC NET during his LLM. “Before accident, I used to think not everything is possible in life. But the things have changed post accident. I started thinking that I can achieve everything after I won my battle with life. My brain had stopped working. I moved from one place to the other across the country for better treatment. There involves a lot of investment in the form of money, physical labour etc.,” said Dubey while talking to The Hitavada.
