“A probationer becomes a skilled officer only when one undergoes training seriously,” said Divisional Commissioner Kavindra Kiyawat on Sunday. The Divisional Commissioner was addressing a test-cum-training session of the probationary officers (PO) posted as Deputy Collectors and Nayab Tehsildars at all five districts in Bhopal division.

At this event of its kind, activities of 50 probationary officers including Deputy Collectors and Nayab Tehsildars in Vidisha, Sehore, Raisen, Bhopal and Rajgarh were assessed by a panel of seven experienced senior revenue officers. Gaps will be overcome by giving practical training to rules. Kiyawat formed seven groups of these officers and asked them about the work done and difficulties faced by them. The officers were explained in detail about the functions of the general public and ways of doing them. Kiyawat supervised the interview of officers and also gave them guidance.

To assess the decision making skill, he also discussed with them about several problems of the common people and made necessary reforms later. The problems detected in training during the assessment were later resolved by giving practical training of the rules. The probationary officers will also be given re-training on the main topics of explaining. The probationary officers were happy with this innovation done by Divisional Commissioner Kavindra Kiyawat. SDM Vidisha, Arti Yadav said that, the main motive of training was to increase the efficiency of these probationary officers and to address the issues, which are left out due to excess work.
