HC Chief Justice Yadav opens mediation centre at Gwalior

Acting Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court, Justice Sanjay Yadav, on Wednesday, virtually inaugurated the mediation centre, set up in Gwalior on the aegis of District Legal Services Authority(DLSA). Secretary of the Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority(SLSA), justice Yadav unveiled the curtain of the mediation cell in an e-inaugural ceremony. The cell is established on the aegis of DLSA Gwalior at Amity Law School in Amity University Gwalior.
 
The Head of the Law Department in the University, Prof. Dr Rakhi Singh Chouhan will be the mediator at the centre. Dr Rakhi is a trained from Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala in association with Straus Institute of Dispute Resolution California USA. She has also undergone 20 hours of training imparted by MP SLSA.
 
“Mediation is the most effective mode of dispute resolution. By opening mediation cell in educational institution, it will create awareness among the students and the practical training can be given to law students,” Dr Rakhi told ‘The Hitavada’. “Parties control the outcome of the dispute. It provides a win win situation for both the parties as they play an important role in formulating the terms of the settlement”, she said. The event was graced by the presence of justice Rituraj Singh Chouhan, Additional District Judge and Secretary, (DLSA), Gwalior.
