Actions of razing illegal constructions of noted criminals continued in the State capital on Sunday as Government land worth Rs 40 lakh and Rs 1 crore was freed from encroachment in Govindpura and MP Nagar areas respectively. It was a joint operation of district administration, Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) and of police department. Govindpura Tehsildar Manoj Shrivastava told ‘The Hitavada’ that illegal constructions owned by habitual offender, Akhtar Khan, against whom 75 cases including that of National Security Act (NSA) have been lodged, were razed in the action. The estimated worth of the construction was Rs 25 lakh.
 
Another crook, Lallu Raess, against whom 84 cases including those of betting and gambling were registered, had occupied land owned by Maruti Repairing Shop in the industrial area. The district administration razed this illegal construction estimated to be of worth Rs 5 lakh MP Nagar SDM Akash Shrivastava said that in zone-1 area, behind MP Nagar police station, a noted criminal Nafees aka Adalat, against whom 25 cases have been lodged, had encroached upon government land worth Rs 1 crore.
 
The illegal construction on the government land was razed using JCB machines. Another encroachment done by an externed criminal, Zakir, was demolished during the drive. During the anti-encroachment drive, prohibitory action was taken against the crook Nafees alias Adalat for possessing illegal arms and also against Aman for creating chaos during the action.
