Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) inspected the construction work of Habibganj railway station on Monday. He inspected the construction work in circulating area, covered over platform, lighting arrangement, washing apron, platform surfacing and concourse area. He also discussed the development in several area and directed concern officials to complete the work in time limit.

The station is being redeveloped under PPP mode by a private developer. Deadline of the station construction as world class has been changed for several times. This time, company has claimed to complete the project by March 2021 as 90 percent work has been done. Earlier, assumptions were made that redevelopment of station will be delayed because of COVID-19 lockdown but the constructing company took special permission from district administration to continue the work with safety protocols.

Development of Habibganj Railway Station is now visible to people easily. When the station was nearing completion, lockdown was imposed across the country and it adversely affected the construction work. Only 10 per cent work is to be done at the station. After lockdown, absence of labourers has affected the work. The station will have grand entrance, food cafeteria, waiting lounge, modern toilets, world class interiors, LED lights, waste water treatment plant, sitting arrangement, exit, interiors, five star hotel, concourse area etc.
