Despite the ongoing global pandemic, campus placements have achieved new heights at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhilai this year. A total of 150 students across all streams registered for placements. Till date, 46 offers have been made to our students from reputed companies like Amazon, Commvault, Paytm, Air Asia, ABB, TCS Research Innovation, L&T, Reliance Jio, and Radisys.

 

The COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent disruption in the economy seems to have had little impact on placements this year. The hiring process has successfully moved online, and annual pay packages have risen in comparison to the previous session. This year’s highest package stands at 31.97 LPA, which is much more than last years. Three students have also received pre-placement offers from VMware and Needl.ai for packages as high as 19.3 LPA. Dr Dhiman Saha, Faculty-in-Charge of Placement, said that this year too we have witnessed a positive trend in the first session. IIT Bhilai students have proved their mettle by securing offers from reputed companies and the Institute has done much better than anticipated given the difficulties.

 

The placement process in the previous season had seen 135 companies registering and showing interest to hire our students. The pioneering batch of IIT Bhilai students also had a successful placement record with 82 job offers from top companies. The Placement Office is persistently working to get more opportunities for successfully placing the remaining students by the end of this season.
