Dhruv, Radha hog limelight CPS, AB’s virtual sports meet concludes

MODERN School, Nagpur’s Dhruv Mishra and Radha Ghotkar of RS Mundle Dharampeth Arts and Commerce College, Nagpur won gold medals in Censports — the annual inter-school sports meet organised jointly by Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass and Sports for All (SFA) Play. In the event recently concluded virtual global sports meet, players from USA, UAE, Oman, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and Bahrain apart from India took part. As many as 1830 children in the age groups of 7 to 17 years, from 433 schools around the world participated. Chess, fitness challenge, karate (kata), and speedcubing were the four sports which were conducted online. Dhruv and Radha won gold medals in the Under-17 boys and girls fitness challenge events respectively. In the U-13 girls event, Anuva Shiwarkar of Centre Point School Amravati Road Bypass pocketed the yellow metal.
 
Another city player who bagged a gold is Anvi Raut from Modern School, Nagpur. She emerged best in the U-15 girls category. The following top 10 schools gained special recognition for highest participation in Censports: CPS, AB; CPS, Wardhaman Nagar; CPS, Katol Road; Narayana Vidyalayam, Wardha Road; Ambassador School, Dubai; JBCN International School (Parel), Mumbai; Bhavan’s BPBVM, Nagpur; Bhavan’s Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir (Trimurti Nagar); St John’s High School, Nagpur and Centre Point School International, Nagpur. Director of Centre Point Group of Schools Radhika Rajwade, Executive Director Mukta Chatterjee, Principal of CPS, Amravati Road Bypass Radhika Mehra and all vice-principals congratulated all the winners and thanked the organisers from SFA Play.
