EAST Zone emerged champions in the first Inter-zone Headmasters Cricket Tournament that was held at Mecosabagh Cricket ground Kadbi Chowk recently. In the final, East Zone defeated West Zone by 44 runs. Batting first, East Zone scored 139 runs in eight overs while West Zone could manage just 95 runs. Nanotkar from East Zone scored 72 runs and was adjudged man of match while Shabana Anjum was declared woman of the match. The event was organised by School Headmasters Charitable Association Nagpur.

 

Four teams participated in the tournament. In the first semi-final East Zone beat South zone by 22 runs and in the second semis, West drubbed North Zone by 40 runs. Rev Ramkrishan was chief guest of the prize distribution function. At the outset, Nago Ganar, MLC Teachers Constituency, inaugurated the tournament. Justice BA Shaikh Court Administrator was chief guest of the function. Zafar Ahmed Khan President, Dilip Bose Secretary, Sandeep Gaikwad Vice-President, Mohammed Mubin, Madhu Joseph and others worked hard for success of the tournament.
