As Christmas is round the corner, some people are making the most of it to spread awareness on novel coronavirus by dressing up as Santa Claus. Under ‘Roko Toko’ campaign, the district administration along with NGOs is trying different initiatives to aware people about coronavirus. As people are excited to celebrate Christmas, volunteers dressed as Santa are distributing face masks and are apprising people to follow all safety norms. On Wednesday, near MP Nagar and Jyoti Talkies hundreds of masks were distributed to those who were not using it.

A volunteer told ‘The Hitavada’ that he used to celebrate Christmas every year by distributing toys, chocolates, and gifts to underprivileged kids but this year due to COVID-19 crisis, he thought of spreading awareness about Covid-19 instead. Collector Avinash Lavania has directed all SDMs to carry out Roko Toko campaign in their respective circles to make people understand the importance of Covid-19 guidelines. He added that wearing a face mask, following social distancing and washing hands regularly are the only ways to prevent Covid-19 infection until the vaccine arrives. SDM Akash Shrivastava, Tehsildar Manish Sharma, Dr Preeti Nair, ASHA workers and volunteers of NGOs were also present.
