Tightening noose around land mafia, a combined team of Jabalpur, district administration and Jabalpur Municipal Corporation demolished another illegal construction of land mafia worth Rs 50 lakh and vacated 3,600 acres of Government land worth around Rs 50 lakh at Richhai under the jurisdiction of Ranjhi police station, on Saturday. The Government land was illegally possessed by Raghuveer Tiwari, a resident of Richhai, who is a listed criminal and currently imprisoned in cases of murder and forgery.
 
Under the direction of Madhya Pradesh Government, a special campaign has been started against people involved in black-marketing, food adulteration, land mafia, chit-fund companies and illegal money launders. In the special campaign, police learnt that the miscreant had illegally constructed house, three shops and boundary wall worth Rs 50 lakh as encroachment on 3,600-acres Government land worth Rs 50 lakh situated at Richhai in Ranjhi.
 
Taking prompt action on the information, a combined team of district administration, police and Jabalpur Municipal Corporation led by senior police and administrative officers reached the spot and razed illegal construction to evacuate the Government land. Anti-encroachment team razed illegal constructions of rooms and boundary wall and freed the Government land worth Rs 50 lakh. During the demolition drive, Naib Tehsildar, Rupeshwari Kunjam, SHO of Khamaria police station, Nirupa Pandey, Ranjhi police force, Revenue Inspector, Rajendra Sen, Anti-encroachment squad, in-charge, Sagar Borkar and other concerned officers were present.
