Former State President of Congress Arun Yadav and former PWD Minister Sajjan Singh Verma criticised Centre over three new farm laws and also made a blistering attack on Madhya Pradesh Government as well. They said that in support of farmers’ agitation, Congress MLAs will reach Madhya Pradesh Assembly on tractor, trolley on December 28, the first day of Assembly’s Winter Session.

They will be led by former CM Kamal Nath. Addressing the joint press conference and supporting the farmers’ protest (continuing in New Delhi), Arun Yadav and Sajjan Singh Verma told that Union Government has forcefully imposed new agriculture reform laws on farmers. Mincing no words in criticising Centre, both leaders said that new farm laws were passed without deliberation with farmers and opposition parties. “It is from last one month that farmers are protesting amid bone biting cold conditions and Central Government is showing the adamant attitude and is not withdrawing three new laws,” they alleged.

They added that on one side, Central Government is talking with farmers and on other hand, it is oppressing them. They claimed that after entering into contract under the laws, farmers’ side will become weak and they will not be able to fix their (produce) prices. Talking about three new laws, they said that they will benefit big companies which will be able to do storage of necessary items. This will lead to hoarding, black-marketing and sell of necessary items at arbitrary rates. “Industrialists will get benefited not farmers,” they fumed. They told that Congress will not tolerate injustice to farmers and on its foundation day, it will protest three new farm laws with full strength.
