Non-functional traffic signals at busy squares in the heart of the city is hindering smooth traffic flow and also putting safety of pedestrians at risk. Out-of-order traffic signals create confusion amongst pedestrians and many a times leads to fatal collision between motorists. Traffic signals at many busy crossings and squares of the city are not working since several days.

 

Such non-functional signals cause huge inconvenience to motorists. They are also proving dear to pedestrians, as signals are not functioning people on foot have to take high risk while crossing the road. Moreover, absence of traffic police at crossings adds to people’s woes. Traffic signals at many squares of the city remain out of order for days. Authorities concerned are paying no heed to rectify the faulty signals.

 

Common people are bearing the brunt of lethargy of authorities concerned. Even though the faulty signals are causing great problem to denizens, the authorities are in no hurry to get them repaired. Such lackadaisical attitude of Jabalpur Municipal Corporation and Traffic Police is creating complete chaos at main squares like Bloom Chowk, Damoh Naka, Karamchand Chowk, Bandaria crossing etc.
