Strike of Bhopal Sand Truck Owners’ Association ends

Minerals Minister Brijendra Pratap Singh met the agitating Bhopal Sand Truck Owners’ Association members and spoke to its office-bearers on Saturday. He accepted demands of association following which association announced to end its 12-day strike being staged at 11 mile situated on the outskirts of State capital. Singh said that no department will stop the vehicles of sand royalty and it will be only at check post where vehicles will be checked. He assured that vehicles with valid permissions will not face any kind of problem.
 
Singh added that whatever valid demands of association where, they have been accepted. According to vehicle, parameter of sand quantity has been prepared. As per parameter, six-wheel vehicle can carry 10 QMT sand, 10 wheel vehicle can carry 16 QMT sand, 12 wheel vehicle can carry 18 QMT sand, 14-wheel vehicle can carry 12 QMT sand and 16-wheel vehicle can carry 25 QMT sand respectively.
 
Singh told that even Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has given the directives that those who are doing sand transportation as per law and rule, will have support of Government. But illegal transporters will not be spared. Singh, however, told that there is some problem of law and it will be rectified shortly. Notably, Bhopal Sand Truck Owners’ Association have truck operators of Hoshangabad, Budhni, Berkheda, Raisen and Mandideep.
