A massive fire broke out in the manufacturing unit of incense sticks located in the city’s Bhanpuri area under Khamtarai police station limits late last night. However, no one was reported to be hurt in the mishap, the inferno engulfed the entire manufacturing unit causing loss of several lakhs. “A major fire broke out in the factory of Lalwani incense sticks at around 1:30 am.

 

The intensity of flames was so high that it took around 12 hours to control the inferno. After being informed about the fire at around 1:30 am, a police team along with firefighters rushed to the spot to undertake rescue exercises. As many as five fire-tenders were dispatched to the spot in the task to douse the flames flaring high in the air,” said police sources. The rescue team managed to completely douse the fire by this afternoon, added police sources. Police sources further informed that prima-facie investigation hints that short-circuit may be the reason for the mishap but exact cause is yet to be ascertained. Besides, the total loss is yet to be estimated. Police investigators are probing the incident.
