CITY’S young and upcoming shuttler Aayush Atul Adey successfully completed the Talent Search Follow-Up Badminton Camp, organised by the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy in Bengaluru. The camp was conducted at the world-class Padukone-Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence, Bengaluru from December 14 to 24. Ten-year-old Aayush was selected for the national-level camp on the basis of his outstanding performance in the Talent Search Badminton Tournament held at Bengaluru 16-18 January 2020. Competing in the Under-10 boys singles category, Aayush had reached the quarter-finals which helped him clinch a berth for the follow-up camp.

The organisers had short-listed top eight players of all the three categories – U-10, U-11 and U-12 boys and girls singles for the follow-up camp. The camp was originally slated to be held in May but because of COVID-19 pandemic, it was postponed to December. Aayush was one of the only two boys from Maharashtra selected for the camp. PPBA Director and national coach Vimal Kumar guided Aayush during the camp. PPBA co-founder Prakash Padukone handed over the completion certificate to Aayush on Thursday. In city, Aayush trains under coach Kunal Dasarwar at Kunal Dasarwar Badminton Academy on Dhanwate National College Sports Centre premises.
