Home Minister Dr Narottam Mishra has reacted sharply over the tweet of ex-Chief Minister Digvijay Singh in which latter had targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah by saying that untill there is EVM they have no worry of public resentment and losing the election. Dr Narottam Mishra said that Digvijay Singh is in a habit of targeting Constitutional institutions.

Wherever Congress wins election there EVM is better and wherever Congress loses election then EVM is bad. “After humble defeat of Congress in Assembly by-elections, it looks that you have started to get dreams of EVMs” Mishra tweeted. Mishra further added that where was Digvijay Singh and Congress when the Election Commission had given open challenge to prove malfunctioning of EVMs. Mishra also replied to another tweet of Digvijay Singh that corona is so dangerous for Madhya Pradesh and Indian Government that meetings of Assembly and Parliament cannot take place. Singh further added that on other hand, Assembly sessions are happening in many states and excluding India, Parliamentary meetings is taking in all democratic countries. Mishra replied that it was in the all-party meeting that decision to adjourn Assembly’s Winter Season was taken (due to COVID-19).

“In this (meeting), Congress leader and Madhya Pradesh Congress President Kamal Nath was also present…..whether on this issue, he (Kamal Nath) has not done discussion with you,” quipped Mishra. Notably, just before a day of three days Winter Session of Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Protem Speaker Rameshwar Sharma convened an all-party meeting in which it was decided that in wake of rising corona cases in employees of Assembly and among MLAs as well, it would be better to adjourn proposed Winter Session of Madhya Pradesh Assembly. All party meeting was attended by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Leader of Opposition Kamal Nath, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr Narottam Mishra etc.
