Jabalpur team bagged the overall championship of the 21st Senior State Wushu Championship, on Wednesday. The championship was organised under the auspices of Madhya Pradesh Wushu Association at Bhanwartal Park. During the championship, players of Jabalpur team proved their mettle and clinched the overall championship while Ashok Nagar and Indore teams secured second and third positions.
 
Chief guest of the prize distribution ceremony was Inspector General of Police (Jabalpur Zone), Bhagwat Singh Chouhan while Madhya Pradesh Wushu Association, Patron, Dr Jitendra Jamdar presided over the programme. Addressing the programme, IG, Bhagwat Singh Chouhan applauded initiatives of Wushu Association for training of youngsters in martial arts. He said that maximum participation of girls in martial arts will improve self defence skills and curtail crime against women in the society.
 
It was informed that total 35 players trained under the guidance of Manoj Gupta and Sarika Gupta have got appointments in Government Department under sports quota. In the prize distribution ceremony, IG Chouhan honoured the players with medals and encouraged them to word hard for success in future.
