There will be water-tight security arrangement of police on the eve of New Year. Police will remain on toes from evening till late night to maintain law and order. Police said that special checking will be conducted at around 150 identified points and strict action will be taken in drunk driving cases. Special patrolling and vehicle checking drive will start from 6 pm onwards. Police said that cops equipped with breath analysers will be deployed at around 40 places in city to check the drunk driving cases.

 

On finding guilty, strict action will be taken against vehicle drivers. Along with this, action will be also taken in rash driving cases and those creating nuisance at public places. Action will be also taken on triple riding and riding two-wheeler without helmet. Moreover, there will be special patrolling arrangement on highway. Suspected vehicles will be checked thoroughly at outposts. Already Bomb Disposal and Dog Squad is doing checking at crowded places such as railway stations, bus stands, shopping malls under anti-sabotage drive.

 

Meanwhile, directives have been issued for owners of hotels, restaurants, gardens to follow the guidelines of COVID 19. To ensure smooth traffic arrangement on the night of December 31, entry of heavy vehicles has been prohibited till 2 am. The entry of heavy vehicles will be prohibited at Khajuri by-pass, Mubarakpur, Lambakheda, Choprakalan, Patel Nagar, 11 Mile, Kolar, Sakhshi Dhaba etc.
