International Working President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Alok Kumar said that there was a plan to visit four lakh out of six lakh villages in the country in connection with fund collection for Ram temple construction. After meetings at various levels, it was decided that 5.25 lakh villages will be covered in country and fund collection will be done from 13 crore families instead of 11 crore decided earlier. In Madhya Pradesh, Shri Ram Janam Bhoomi Teerth Kshetra Nyas will reach 1.5 crore families for fund collection. Speaking to mediapersons in State capital, Alok Kumar said that this (fund collection for Ram temple) will be the biggest fund collection in world.

He said that for Madhya Pradesh, Ram Janam Bhoomi Nyas has constituted Ram Mandir Nirman Nidhi Samiti under the chairmanship of Akhileshwaranand Maharaj (Jabalpur). Shedding light, he said that teams, each containing five members, have been formed which will report to depositors. All collection will be deposited within 48 hours in bank account of ‘Teerth Kshetra’. A transparent arrangement has been made for fund collection. He hoped that by the year 2024, an idol of Ram Lala will be installed in main temple.

He informed that initially some problems have been confronted in construction of temple pillars and help of many institutions is being taken (to sort out the problem). Entire temple will be of stone blocks. The area of temple will be 2.7 acres. On being asked that what happened about money collected by VHP in 1990, he told that at that time Rs 8 crore were collected and through them stones were bought and shaped. He added that from that fund collection, some money is remaining which will be used now.
