THE 86th Annual General Meeting of Vidarbha Cricket Association was held on Sunday on virtual platform because of the lockdown restrictions. Adv Anand Jaiswal, President VCA, was in the chair. The members unanimously approved the report of the Secretary, the audited accounts and reappointment of Justice (Retd) AP Deshpande as Ombudsman-cum-Ethics Officer.

The chairman informed members that the association has opted for the option of conducting Ranji Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Tournament amongst the options offered by the BCCI to state Associations. VCA preferred a combination of one longer format and one Twenty20 event. The other three choices were — having only Ranji Trophy, holding just the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament and a combination of two white-ball tourneys in Mushtaq and Vijay Hazare Trophy (50 overs event). Also on the dais were Secretary Parimal Vaidya, Vice-President Prashant Vaidya, Treasurer Murali Pantula and Joint Secretary Hemant Gandhi. It is learnt that the meeting was over in 15 minutes.
