SDYS’ badminton court gets operational

SANATAN Dharam Yuvak Sabha (SDYS), a city-based organisation, inaugurated its badminton court at Kadbi Square on Monday. A friendly match was held for children of the same locality in presence of city’s international badminton players like Ritika Thaker and Rohan Gurbani. Rohan is Under-17 junior national champion. He also represented India in Asian Badminton championship 2018 at Myanmar and was also runner-up in Under-19 Junior Badminton Championship that was held at Rajahmundry.
 
Doubles specialist Ritika is also an international shuttler. She is current junior national champion in girls doubles. She won women’s doubles titles in Ivory Coast International, Egypt International, Mauritius International. She represented India in four Asian Badminton Championships and one World Junior Championship.
 
The organisation has tied-up with Ajay Dayal Badminton Academy where Ajay Dayal, a well-known city coach and a former player himself, will train the students of the newly-inaugurated court. Vice-President of the organisation Gopal Sahni, General Secretary Prashant Sahni, Joint Secretary Milind Sahni, Treasurer Vinay Oberoi and member of the organisation Ashish Dhawan along with other members were present at the inaugural function. Members of the sabha can confirm their bookings apart from the time slot for coaching (6 to 8 am & 4 to 9 pm) for personal play.
