3 members of vehicle-lifters’ gang held

Piplani police, on Friday, have busted a three-member vehicle-lifters’ gang and have also recovered 13 motorcycles from their possession. The main accused of the gang is on the run and police have started search for him.

A team led by Piplani SHO Amit Chain Singh Raghuvanshi received a tip off that members of the gang were active in their area. The police team reached the spot and arrested Umesh Patel (21), Gajendra Patel (20) and Krishna Mishra (20). They admitted lifting of 12 motorcycles which were later seized from different areas in the city. The accused told the police that they used to search same colour and model of the motorcycle on the RTO website and would later change the number plate. They would also make fake PAN cards and Aadhaar cards using the details from the RTO website. The police also seized three Aadhaar cards, two PAN cards and a voter ID card from their possession. All these fake documents had the photograph of their gang leader, Anup Mishra, which were used to sell these motorcycles. One motorcycle was seized each from Ratibad and Kamla Nagar area while nine motorcycles were found from Piplani area itself.
 
The police have registered a case against the accused under various sections of the IPC.
