Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) conducted the civil services preliminary examination, 2020 on Sunday in Bhilai and Durg and over 2000 candidates appeared on it. The difficulty level was moderate, which means the cut-off will be higher. Total 100 questions were asked in the examination and of them, maximum 11 questions were asked from Indian History and Political Science. ‘Overall the paper was easy for those who had already attempted it earlier. Contrary to previous paper, the current affairs questions were asked from the period of past two to three years’ said Prateek Sharma, who has appeared for CGPSC prelims third time. Last time he succeeded to clear prelims but could not pass the main exams. Sheetal Dewangan, who appeared for the examination from state capital Raipur stated that the CGPSC 2020 prelims paper this year had a good focus on science, technology, political science and history subjects.
 
‘However, the paper of Indian Economics as well as Chhattisgarh Culture were not easy and a lot of comprehension made it difficult and time consuming’ she added. Questions based on bookish knowledge were less. The paper had more current affairs questions and the difficulty level was moderate. It was neither easy nor very difficult. Majority of the students did not face difficulties in attempting of questions of Indian History, Political Science, Chhattisgarh History, General Knowledge, Chhattisgarh General Knowledge and Chhattisgarh Tribe. Akash Sahu and Ranjeet Bakshi, who appeared for the examination first time pointed out that paper was tough for him and it would have been easier had he put in more time for preparation. ‘Questions from Indian Economics, Chhattisgarh Economics, General Knowledge and Chhattisgarh Tribe were equally distributed in the question paper’ he added.
 
In the examination, questions were asked from Indian History, Indian Geography, Political Science, Indian Economics, Science, Technology, Current Affairs, General Knowledge, Chhattisgarh History, Chhattisgarh Geography, Chhattisgarh Tribe, Chhattisgarh Culture, Chhattisgarh Economics and Current Affairs of Chhattisgarh. Dr. SK Jain, Professor of Economics and expert of CGPSC told that paper was moderate and some sections were time consuming. If all things happen in proper way then results will be declared on March and successful students of it will go through CGPSC Mains 2020 on first week of June, added professor.
