IN A shocking incident, a 24-year-old youth was stabbed to death after he intervened in a fight late on Saturday night. The argument took place outside a liquor shop in Aishbagh area. Three miscreants attacked him with sharp-edged weapons and he was rushed to a hospital by his friends where he was declared brought dead. Following his death, his body was sent to Hamidia Hospital for post-mortem. He had gone to the area with his friends for dinner when an argument took place.
 
Police have arrested three people involved in the assault. According to Aishbagh police, deceased Ashish Patel was a resident of Pipariya teshil in Hoshangabad district. Patel tried to intervene when three people attacked him with a knife. He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead. After the attack, the accused fled the area but were later arrested by police.
 
The accused have been identified as Ravi Thakur, Rahul Nageri and Irfan. SHO Aishbagh Ajay Nayar said the deceased was outside the liquor shop at Prabhat Square and his friends were inside the shop when the incident took place. All the arrested accused have been charged under sections 302 and 34 of the IPC and will be produced in the court on Monday.
