Barela police have solved the blind murder mystery of a man after 8-months of the incident and succeeded in apprehending the accused and seized an axe used for killing the man. The man was killed for doubt of his involvement in superstitious practices. The accused has been identified as Pradeep Patel (40), son of Ramfal Patel, resident of Bilgada village in Barela. Additional SP (South), Dr. Sanjeev Uike disclosed this while addressing a press conference, on Monday. It may be noted that, on August 30, 2019, a man named Ramji Patel (29), resident of Bilgada village in Barela lodged a complaint that, on August 29, his father Ramkumar Patel was on duty at Primo Company, Maneri but could not reach home till late night when he thought about overtime duty by his father.
 
On August 30, a man named Ramkumar Sahu informed that his father was found dead near Gaumukh Tiraha. He along with his younger brother Chhotelal reached the spot and found that his father was killed by hammering his head with a stone. He charged that his father was killed by unidentified person. Barela police had registered a case under Section 302 of the IPC and started investigation into the case. Superintendent of Police, Amit Singh had constituted a team under the supervision of Additional SP (City South), Dr. Sanjeev Uike and Additional SP (Rural/Crime), Shivesh Singh Baghel, DSP (Headquarter), Malkhan Singh. Investigating the case, police learnt that one year back nephew of deceased Ramkumar Patel named Manjeet Patel, son of his elder brother Ramfal was dead after prolonged illness. Ramphal and his elder son Pradeep Patel had a doubt that his brother Ramkumar Patel who had an old rivalry with him killed his younger son Manjeet through superstitious practices.
 
Pradeep Patel always misbehaved and abused his uncle Ramkumar Patel and several times threatened him to life. On the basis of statements and evidences, police interrogated the suspect Pradeep Patel who confessed the killing of Ramkumar Patel to take revenge of death of his younger brother Manjeet. On his identification, police have seized an axe used in killing of Ramkumar Patel. The case was solved with active working of police team led by SHO, Barela, Sushil Chouhan comprised of SI, Rameshwar Uike, Satish Uike, Munesh Lal Kol, Head Constables, Laxman Maravi, Shailendra Marco, Constables, Manoj Jharia, Sohan Sallam, Suraj Mishra, Santosh Tiwari, Rajendra Gupta, Sunil Kangle, Home Guard Sainik, Murat Singh and Crime Branch’s ASI, Ram Sanehi Sharma, Constables, Sujesh Vijayan, Ajit Patel, Anil Sharma and Rajesh Kewat
