“Be careful of your thoughts, for your thoughts become your words. Be careful of your words, for your words become your actions. Be careful of your actions, for your actions become your habits. Be careful of your habits, for your habits become your character. Be careful of your character, for your character becomes your destiny,” with these words of wisdom, Arvind Kumar, Centre Head of Tata Consultancy Services inspired the Diploma Holders at the premises of Government Polytechnics on Thursday. The 22nd Convocation Ceremony of Government Polytechnic, an autonomous institute of Government of Maharashtra was held in a grand manner and Arvind Kumar was addressing as a chief guest. Dr D V Jadhav, Joint Director, Technical Education, Regional Office, Amravati and Chairman, Governing Board of the institute presided over the function. Dr Ram Nibudey, Joint Director, Technical Education, Regional Office, was guest of honour. “You are living in the world which has become boundary less.
 
This is the reason, you must cross all boundaries, think beyond them and excel in life,” Arvind Kumar said. Arvind Kumar narrated different success stories of Ola, Uber, Amazon, Swiggy, Zomato, etc., and pointed out how the people become successful by establishing the service provider companies. During the convocation ceremony 711 students were conferred with the diplomas. The gold and silver medals as well as sponsored awards to the students securing first and second ranks in various Engineering diploma programmes were distributed at the hand of Chairman and chief guest. Total 28 sponsored awards were instituted by academicians, industry persons and professionals for the meritorious students. Pratik Pradeep Wankhede a topper student from all engineering disciplines of the institute securing 95.3 per cent marks had received highest six sponsored awards and a gold medal during the convocation. He belongs to Civil Engineering programme.
 
Viditti Amarendra Jaltare of Civil Engineering branch bagged four silver medals. The recipients of Gold medals from different disciplines included: Mubarika Sabir (Mechanical Engineering); Nikhil Lekhram Ambule (Electrical Engineering); Yashshree Sudhir Sulbhewar (Electronics and Telecommunication); Amol Gajanan Hud (Packaging Technology); Sandesh Naresh Suryavanshi (Metallurgical Engineering); Rupali Sanjay Wasekar (Information Technology); Janmajay Ashok Narwaria (Textile Manufacture); Shaikh Mohd Junaid M Ismail (Automobile Engineering); Monica Mukeshkumar Dholwani (Compuer Engineering); Rohinee Subhash Wankhede (Travel and Tourism); Darshan Laxman Fandi (Mining and Mine Surveying). The recipients of Gold medals from different disciplines included: Tegveer Singh Puni (Mechanical Engineering); Shrutika Nandkishor Hajare (Electrical Engineering); Prathamesh Rajiv Satyarthi (Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering); Bharati Prakash Chelani (Information Technology); Nitin Wasudeorao Bandre (Textile Manufacture); Nikhil Anil Gadekar (Automobile Engineering); Rukiya Zuber Dargwala (Computer Engineering) and Tanushri Bhoumik (Computer Engineering).
 
Dr D V Jadhav in his presidential address termed Engineers are solution providers. He said, “Any student who completes the Diploma programme should be able to provide solutions to the real time complex engineering problems using basic knowledge of science, mathematics and engineering by considering the social, environmental and economical constraints by maintaining the ethics. The engineer should have a capability to work in a team, good communication skills and life long learner. If the solutions would have been simple, there would not be the need of any engineers. Constraints and challenges are always there. Hence, don’t be afraid of the challenges.” Deepak S Kulkarni, Principal, Government Polytechnic made introductory remarks. He discussed different activities carried by the institution during the academic year. S P Lambade proposed a vote of thanks. Dr N V Raut, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering was the officer incharge of 22nd convocation ceremony and he was assisted by Dr M S Deshpande, Controller of Examination.
