Governor Anusuiya Uikey honoured excellent scouts, guides, rovers and rangers of the State in a felicitation ceremony at Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan on Thursday. The certificate distribution and felicitation programme was organised by Bharat Scout & Guide Chhattisgarh. Speaking on the occasion, Governor Uikey said that Bharat Scouts & Guides motivates the children for positive and constructive works and plays an important role to nurture them for national service. Uikey also recalled the contributions of Lord Baden-Powell, who was the founder of the modern Scouting movement.
 
The Governor gave away certificate to the scouts and guides, rovers and rangers. Three scouts and guides were honoured with Rs 10,000 while two rovers and rangers were felicitated with Rs 5,000. She also congratulated all the scouts, guides, rovers and rangers for their achievements.
 
The Governor hoped that the students, who learnt as the scouts and the guides, would follow in their life and give them inspiration in odd situations. Secretary to Governor Sonmani Borah, State Chief Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides Chhattisgarh Vinod Chandrakar and Executive President Rajesh Agrawal also addressed the programme. Scouts, guides, rovers and rangers attended the programme.
