Act tough against overrating and illicit sale of liquor: Das

THE Commissioner of Excise Niranjan Das IAS on Friday took a review meeting of the Excise department at GST Bhavan and directed the officials to take stern measures against over rating and illicit sale. Niranjan Das instructed the officials to launch a campaign. This was necessitated after complaints of over rating and sale of illicit liquor in State.
The illicit liquor from bordering states is being flooded into Chhattisgarh and sale has tacit support allegedly from politicians. Niranjan Das taking the complaints of over rating in the state seriously asked the Excise officials to take stern action.

Besides the Manpower placement agencies have also been given a stern warning that if their employees are found to be involved in overrating they should be immediately removed.
The Commissioner has also instructed the officials to see that the allotted quota of liquor is lifted by the licensee bar and clubs and that no illicit liquor is sold by them. He also took information regarding sale of country and Indian Made Foreign Liquor besides directing the district officials to maintain stock of the products as per the demand in the market.
