MP first to implement community-based nutrition management

Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country where the community-based nutrition management (C-SAM) has been launched in the form of a campaign for the severe malnourished children. The campaign will be implemented in two phases. Under the first phase, the work in 97,135 anganwadis of the State for identifying serious malnourished children is underway till February 20. The Minister for Women and Child Development, Imarti Devi informing about the departmental action plan-2020, said that the centre based 5-day health check-up camps will be organised and medicines will be given under the second phase. Under this phase, besides monitoring of nutrition till 12 weeks, observation, consultation and village health, sanitation as well as monthly health check-up on nutrition days and checking of nutrition will be held.

Minister Imarti Devi informed that 10 to 15 per cent children with acute malnutrition need treatment because of medical complications. The better nutrition management at community level will be done of those 85 to 90 per cent children with acute malnutrition, which do not have medical complications. She further informed that the management is being monitored and supervised by the CMAS app. Imarti Devi said that the physical measurement of and nutrition level of about 80 lakh children could be determined through this campaign. Along with this, the nutrition management of about 80 to 85 per cent children will also be done at community level.
 
Nutrition Awareness Stall: Women and Child Development Minister Imarti Devi informed that nutrition awareness stalls will be put up in haat-bazaars to generate consciousness in tribal areas. She mentioned that a target has been set to put up 963 stalls per week and 50,076 nutrition awareness stalls in a year. Apart from this, dialogues will also be established with the mass communities and nomad communities. She further informed that nutrition baskets will be distributed to the children through nutrition awareness stalls in weekly haat bazaars of tribal areas.
 
Community Nutrition Kitchen: Minister Imarti Devi informed that the Community Nutrition Kitchen programme will be started to create awareness about preparing delicious and nutritious food from locally available and used cereals, fruits and vegetables. He informed that a community nutrition kitchen competition of locally available and used cereals, fruits and vegetables will be organised from March 8 to 31.
 
New child education centres to start: Minister Imarti Devi informed that 800 new child
has to be not less than Rs 10 crore was eligible for incentives. This will encourage expansion plans. Plug and Play Industrial Park at Badiya Khedi: He said that Plug and Play Industrial Park will be developed in Badiya Khedi (Sehore) in an area admeasuring 60 acres which is only 28 kms from Bhopal airport and close to Bhopal-Indore highway. He urged the private developers to come forward for the development of garment park on PPP Model at Barlai, 20 km. from Indore on way to Dewas. The State Government is committed to provide more incentives for manufacturing of textile and apparels from organic cotton, he added.A committee headed by Chief Secretary involving stakeholders from cotton farmers and manufacturers has been set up to promote use of cotton for garments/apparel. The Chief Minister said that the State Government will design a policy for incentivising composite and integrated units in textile sector. The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh is the most favourable State for industries. He said that the global economy is facing many challenges and the industry sector has to adopt and adapt to the changes taking place at global and local levels. He said that India’s 60 percent market is in Madhya Pradesh. He said that the state government is striving to make Madhya Pradesh a hub of food processing and horticulture, which will boost its economy. 14,000 jobs: Encouraged by the industry-friendly approach of the Chief Minister Kamal Nath, major players of textile sector announced investments measuring Rs 3,250 crores. This will offer jobs to 14,000 people of the State. Announcing an investment of Rs 3,000 crore in Bhopal, Chairman of Trident, Rajendra Gupta said that this will provide employment to 10,000 people. Managing Director of Gokaldas Export Company, Shiva Ganapathi said that Rs 50 crore will be invested in Bhopal. This investment will provide employment to three thousand people. Similarly, General Manager of Mayur Uniquoters, Swapnil Vyas informed about investment of Rs 150 crores in Gwalior. One thousand people will get employment. Managing Director of Syntex Company, Shreyaskar Chaudhary informed that in MSME textile park will be set up in Indore with an investment of 100 crores with the co-operation from Chairman of Apparel Export Promotion Council A Shaktivel.
