The letter installation reads ‘My Love (symbol) My Nagpur’. Sandip Joshi, Mayor, has come up with the idea to have this letter installation at Ambazari spillover point. According to him, though the letters are known to every one, the social message that Nagpur Municipal

Corporation (NMC) wants to disseminate is a new idea. “I am sure that it will start a new movement, infuse a new sense of pride for all the citizens, especially youngsters,” he stated.

Though the letter installation was unveiled on Friday evening, the actual launch is scheduled at 5.30 pm on February 17 (Monday). Joshi is going to make ‘some announcement’ then. But, what will that announcement be? NMC has kept it under the wraps for now. In fact, the Mayor has appealed to the people to remain present at the appointed time on February 17 and be a part of ‘something new’.

On Friday evening, however, people noticed the letter installation. Almost all the people who visited Ambazari spillover point clicked their selfies and photographs, with the letter installation forming the perfect backdrop. Similar letter installations are already there in Hyderabad and bigger cities, to encourage the visitors and citizens to click photographs and make their visit to the spot memorable. Now, Nagpur also joins the list of such bigger cities.

Since taking over as Mayor, Joshi has been coming up with new initiatives ranging from ‘Walk and Talk with Mayor’, ‘Breakfast with Mayor’, city-level grievances redressal camp, zone-level ‘Janata Durbar’, ‘Mummy Papa You Too’, Hello Mahapaur’ mobile phone application, etc.
