City police have registered offence against unidentified persons in connection with uploading of clips of child pornography. As part of nationwide crackdown on child pornography, the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) alerted police organisations in country about spurt in uploading of child pornography clips on porn websites.

Special Inspector General of Police, National Crime Records Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi, is co-ordinating with various State police about bringing the culprits to book. Acting on information, city police registered offence with Ganeshpeth, Jaripatka, Sakkardara, Nandanvan Police Stations.
 
Cyber Cell of Nagpur city police investigated the links shared by NCRB from which objectionable clips were uploaded on various porn websites. Based on tracking the internet protocol and its locations, the FIRs were registered with different police stations.
 
In a co-ordinated action, city police would take-up the investigations so as to bring to book the criminals who uploaded the clips. Nilesh Bharne, Additional Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, is supervising the investigations by respective police stations. Offence under Secs 67 (B) of Information Technology Act 2000 and under Sec 15 (1) of Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation Act.
