SBI holds special financial literacy camp in Bastar region

STATE Bank of India (SBI) organised a special financial literacy camp located in the inaccessible and deep forested belt of Bastar Region.

A senior bank officials addressing the special financial literacy camp at Bande village in Kanker District on Friday. 
 
The scheduled camp was held at Government Higher Secondary School campus in village Bande in District Kanker under the Financial Literacy Week observed from February 10 to 15. Deputy General Manager (DGM) of SBI Raipur module Alok Kumar Sinha was the Chief guest.
 
In his inaugural speech, the DGM highlighted involvement of Small Medium Industries in the development of the State and the contribution made by SBI in all areas of development.
 
A total of 135 such camps were organised in this zone by the SBI on Friday, he added. The objective of this programme was to focus on awareness among the small and medium scale entrepreneurs about the various schemes of the bank with a view to motivate them to become self dependent by availing bank loans.
 
Under this, information have been provided on agricultural loans, government sponsored schemes, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, stand up India scheme and loans to self-help groups at the camp site itself.
 
Further, the gathering was apprised about the precautions to be taken while doing transactions on internet banking, ATM, mobile banking and at Customer Service Centres. The innocent rural citizens were also advised and educated to avoid fake deposit schemes and not to share their ATM password.
 
The loan cases were sanctioned under various schemes of the bank at the site itself. Deputy General Manager of Reserve Bank of India Neelabh Jha, Deputy General Manager of NABARD Shailee Jamuar and Manager of SIDBI Sanjay Kumar also shared their views on the occasion. The programme concluded with speech by Regional Manager of SBI Neeraj Choubey.
