To create awareness about traffic rules, a rally ‘Don’t Break the Traffic Rule’ in the state capital was jointly hosted by Raipur Police, district administration, Raipur Smart City and social organizations on Saturday. The awareness campaign was flagged-off by Raipur Mayor Aijaz Dhebar at city’s Telibandha in the presence of Collector Dr S Bharathidasan, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shaikh Arif Husen, Commissioner of Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) Saurabh Kumar, senior traffic cops and others.
 
Praising Raipur Police’s ‘Har Head Helmet’ and other initiatives taken to streamline traffic here, Mayor Dhebar said that everyone in the state capital should ensure compliance of their duties along with giving priority to their rights so that Raipur could become number one smart city in the country. Calling on people to compulsorily wear helmet at the time of riding two-wheeler, Collector Dr Bharathidasan highlighted the importance of using helmet through a short story.
 
Addressing the gathering, SSP Husen said that Raipur Police is determined for the safety of common people and it will continue the action against violators to traffic rule so that inconvenience of people on road could be reduced. On the occasion, students of Kopalvani Divyang School presented a performance with message to people for complying traffic rules. Meanwhile, a quiz competition was also hosted and helmets were distributed to winners. Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Prafull Kumar Thakur, ASP (Traffic) M R Mandavi and others were present during the campaign.
