Thousands of devotees of Sant Gajanan Maharaj across the city participated in the grand celebrations of 142nd Pragat Dinotsav of Sant Gajanan Maharaj on Saturday. All the temples of Sant Gajanan Maharaj in city in different areas were seen flooded with the devotees right from early morning. Religious programmes like Rudrabhishek, Abhishek, Paduka Pujan, Bhajan, Distribution of Mahaprasad and Shobhayatra were held in city. Long queues of devotees of Sant Gajanan Maharaj were seen in front of many temples across the city.

Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj Shraddhasthan in Reshimbagh: The grand shobhayatra was held on from the premises of Shraddhasthan. President of Narkesari Prakashn Dr Vilas Dangre flagged off the procession.Deputy Mayor Manisha Kothe, former MLA Sudhakar Kohale, corporator Dr Ravindra Bhoyar, convenor of Shraddhasthan Girish Waradpande, Shital Prashant Kamde, Divya Dhurde, Dr Shrirang Waradpande graced the occasion. The portrait of Sant Gajanan Maharaj was placed on decorated chariot. Citizens decorated their premises, roads and performed aukshan pooja etc.
 
The Lazim Tipari Pathak of Jawahar Gurukul English School, Navrang Band team, Sati Anasuyamata Bhajani Mandal, Lazim team of Shrirang Sangeet Vidyalaya, Santoshimata Bhajani Mandal, Laxmi Bhajani Mandal and many others participated in the same. The devotees were carrying palanquin of Sant Gajanan Maharaj and chanting Shri Gajanan Jai Gajanan, Gana Gana Ganat Bote, Om Namo Gajanan Namo Namha, Guru Gajanan Maze Aai Majala Thav dyava payi etc.
 
The programmes on February 16 will include Mass recitation of 21st Chapter of Shri Gajanan Vijay Granth penned by Santkavi Kamlasoot at 9 am. The maha antim pheri (final round) of Bhajan contest organised by late Vansanatai Waradpande Smruti Amrutdhara Matrushakti will be held at 10 am. The theme of bhajan contest has been conceptualised by Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari.
 
The prize distribution of the bhajan contest will be held at 4 pm by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and former minister Chandrashekhar bawankule. The programme of classical and semi classical songs by Shilpa Kanade from Indore will be held at 7 pm. Shri Sadguru Gajanan Maharaj Sewabhavi Mandal, Trimurt Nagar: A grand shobhayatra was held at 4.30 pm on Saturday from Sant Gajanan Maharaj Mandir, Talmale Estate, Renghe Nagar, Trimurti Nagar. About 800 dindis from Nagpur district and other places in Vidarbha participated in the procession. Palanquin of Shri Gajanan Maharaj, horses, devotees showering flowers and petals were the attractions of the procession.
 
The Gajanan Mandir in Talmale Estate is one of the prominent Gajanan Mandirs in city. A week-long festival was held to mark 142nd pragatdinotsav. The Shobhayatra was started after Mahapooja. Raju Talmale, Meena Talmale, Ashok Dhote, corporator Lahukumar Bohate performed pujan of silver idol. The shobhayatra passed through Trimurti Nagar square, Padole Hospital Square, Gopal Nagar, Mate square, Durga Mandir, Pratap Nagar Square, Radhe Mangalam Hall, NIT Garden and reached at temple premises. Shrikant Pise, Prashant Pise, Prof Ramesh Jibhkate, Raju Menghare, Pramod Joshi, Chakradhar Bodhare, Vilas Gadhwe were also felicitated on this occasion.
