In another case, Rs 61,000 withdrawn from bank account of a man
 
 
A senior citizen was relieved of Rs 1,88,500 after he paid Rs 5 through his credit card on a mobile phone application. As per the details provided by Ajni Police, the senior citizen Rajeshkumar Gurudasram Owanhari (65), a resident of Plot No 40, Hanuman Nagar, received a call from mobile phone number 8101432388 on January 24 morning. The caller said that he was speaking from ‘PayTM’. The caller then asked Owanhari to provide details for completion of KYC (Know Your Customer) formality. For the purpose, the caller asked Owanhari to download a ‘Click-Support App’.
 
Accordingly, Owanhari downloaded the said mobile phone application. As per the instructions, Owanhari made payment of Rs 5 through the said application. Immediately afterwards, he received four messages regarding transactions to the tune of Rs 1,88,500. Later, he realised that he was relieved of the sum by the trickster. Based on the complaint lodged by Owanhari, Ajni Police have registered an offence under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code. Further investigations are under way.
 
In another incident, a man was relieved of Rs 61,000 withdrawn from his bank account by a trickster. Rituraj Damodhar Morey (48), a resident of 4-A, A-1/1, Nirmal Nagari, New Nandanvan, has his account in IndusInd Bank. Between 10.22 pm on January 30 and 1.43 pm on February 13, an unidentified trickster withdrew the said amount from Morey’s bank account. Based on Morey’s complaint, Nandanvan Police have registered offence under Sections 420, 403 of the Indian Penal Code against the unidentified trickster.
