Just before the board examination, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) entered a previously uncharted territory on different platforms of internet as it created its first ever set of memes. The board surprised the internet when its official handle on different platforms of social media displayed two memes related to board exams. The posts were soon racing around in all forms of social media comprising mostly academicians and were also shared on unofficial school or class groups. The senior public relation officer of board, Rama Sharma in the circular said that the idea was to connect with young kids.
 
‘To engage with students in a meaningful as well as interesting way, we have developed memes for the first time and posted them on social media handles’. The board has been smartly using social media to not only broadcast messages but also to counter fake news on the platform. Many of the educationists as well as parents welcomed this step of CBSE. ‘I am really happy that the CBSE has done such a thing because you have to speak the language of your target audience.
 
It is a brilliant move by the board’ said Avinash Bakshi, Bank Manager and father of daughter who is giving her class 10th board examination from Delhi Public School this year. Students love the social media friendly board and its antics. Arjun Sharma, a student of class 12 stated that ‘Memes are frequently the only way these days that youngsters like us are getting updated with the current affairs. This form of adaptation by CBSE was unexpected, but I am pretty sure it will be fun to go through. I am in full support of CBSE using memes to guide us children, especially those appearing for boards.’
 
Many of students and teachers expressed that this kind of initiative will help students to come out from stress of exams. This kind of initiative will help students to get charge in preparing of board exams. Padmja Nandkumar, Principal of Bhilai Nair Samajam English Medium Senior Secondary School stated that it will help students to clear their doubts and do not come under influence of fake news which are generally circulated on several mediums during examination period.
