33rd convocation of IGNOU
The 33rd convocation of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) was conducted on Monday. Chief guest at the Bhopal study center was Professor RJ Rao, Vice Chancellor Barkatullah University. About 2,31,573 degrees were awarded in this convocation which included 79 PhD degrees. The convocation was held at 39 regional centers across India, including Bhopal, with the main function at IGNOU, New Delhi.
 
Umesh Chandra Pandey, regional director IGNOU informed that for all study centers in MP, convocation programme was held in Bhopal where more than 350 students were gathered.
 
About 1818 students from regional centers and 922 from Jabalpur centers were rewarded degree at Bhopal office. He said this year three students from Madhya Pradesh were rewarded with gold medal for excellence performance. All students were earlier informed about their degree and gold medals through SMS. All students, guest and degree holders appeared in Khadi uniform. The university had already asked everyone to receive the degree in Khadi uniform. On the occasion, regional center’s Assistant Director Anshuman Upadhyay felicitated Ramesh Sharma, who is a regular student of IGNOU for past five years.
