1,68,508 students appearing from Nagpur division
Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination to be conducted by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education will begin on Tuesday with first paper of English to be held between 11 am and 2 pm. The examination will end on March 23, 2020. Last year 1,66,235 students had enrolled for the examination. This year the number rose to 1,68,508. This year the number of students have been increased by 2,273 than those enrolled last year.
 
Total 1,68,508 students have been enrolled for the examination in Nagpur division. This includes 99,736 boys and 87,049 girls. 475 centers have been set up with additional 19 centers. Special teams have been set up to monitor the sensitive centers. Video shooting also will be done as well.
Mobile banned
 
Two years ago, question paper got viral through ‘Whatsapp’. Taking it into account, the use of mobile phones has been banned at the centres. Only Centre-incharge will be allowed to possess mobile. Since the packet of question paper will be opened in front of students, there is no chance of question paper leak.

‘Do not take the stress’
 
Ravikant Deshpande, Chairman of Nagpur Divisional Board urged students not to take stress. “Read the questions quietly and then write,” he urged. Board has issued a separate timetable for repeaters who will take the examination in the old syllabus as the SSC students will appear for the revised syllabus. Tata Parsi school faces Chor bazar encroachment Tata Parsi Girls’ High School and Junior College is facing a lot of problems due to the encroachment by Chor Bazar. The vendors have occupied space just in front of the school. The school management has several times tried to approach civic authorities but alas! All went on deaf ears. Police did help the school and asked the vendors not to sit in front of the school. But after police left the vendors again encroached the footpaths. The school management appealed the students to reach early to avoid the traffic chaos.
 
Start early to avoid traffic problem
 
Students have been advised to start for the centre early as a lot of road construction, Metro work, flyover work is underway in the city. Students are likely to face heavy traffic. Some organisations have appealed the agencies to stop works between 10 am and 12 noon. The Board has also appealed the parents not to obstruct the traffic by bringing four-wheeler.
 
Important notes
  • The paper will be given 10 minutes prior to scheduled time.
  • To save the year of students, the supplementary examination will be conducted immediately after the result.
