Residents of Jabalpur have created a new world record of mass oath-taking for traffic awareness at Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla Stadium, Wright Town, on Tuesday. The programme was organised as per initiative of Jan Aakrosh in association with Traffic Police, district administration and Jabalpur Municipal Corporation. The mega mass oath-taking programme was registered in Golden Book of World Records and its representatives handed over the certificate of world record to office-bearers of Jan Aakrosh.
 
Chief guest on the occasion was State Minister for Social Justice Lakhan Ghanghoria, while Mayor Dr Swati Godbole presided over the programme. Special guests on the occasion were Inspector General of Police (Jabalpur Zone), Bhagwat Singh Chouhan, DIG (Jabalpur), Manohar Verma, Collector, Bharat Yadav, Superintendent of Police, Amit Singh, Jabalpur Smart City, CEO, Ashish Pathak, Additional Colector, Sandeep GR, Founder of Jan Aakrosh, Ravi Kashkhedikar and other eminent persons especially present. On the occasion, Mayor Dr Swati Godbole administered oath to thousands of residents from different sections of the society to follow traffic rules and encouraging others for the same to check road accidents and ensuring smooth traffic operation in the city.
 
Addressing the programme, State Social Justice Minister Lakhan Ghanghori applauded the initiative of office-bearers of Jan Aakrosh and other social organisations to start a big campaign of creating public awareness amongst residents. He emphasised over following traffic rules and road safety parameters and said that public awareness is the only way to improve traffic arrangements and saving precious lives that are lost in road accidents. He expressed gratitude towards Founder of Jan Aakrosh Ravi Kashkhedikar for such a unique campaign.
 
On the occasion, Additional SP (Traffic), Amrat Meena informed about necessary precautions while driving two-wheeler, four-wheeler or commercial vehicles for safety of their own life and but safety of others. Following some easy traffic safety measures can save hundreds of lives every year in the district. Jan Aakrosh Secretary Akhilesh Dixit convened the programme, while City President Vivek Yadav proposed a vote of thanks. The programme was successfully organised with valuable contribution from Sudhir Haridas, Rudrapratap Singh, Krishna Dharkar, Rishi Chourasia, Azad Sahu, Santosh Vishwakarma, Vision Jabalpur’s Rajendra Singh, Yuva Traffic Force’s Aman Gangrade, Prajapita Bramhkumari’s Vikas Shrivastava and others. 
 
After Nagpur, Jan Aakrosh takes up challenge in Jabalpur Jan Aakrosh was started on the initiatives of Ravi Kashkhedikar in Nagpur with an aim to check road accidents for safety of several lives and addressing traffic issues. The organisation has already achieved a big milestone by creating public awareness in Nagpur. Now, Jan Aakrosh has started a massive public awareness campaign in Jabalpur to streamline traffic arrangements in association with several other local social organisations. Under the campaign, volunteers of Jan Aakrosh educate public about traffic rules at different squares on every Wednesday.
